The Journey

Guess What?!  We are still here!  Another wonderful month has gone by and we are making adjustments and changes. We’ve made a few more friends and attracted a few more believers.

We are in the process of adding a boutique to the front of the store.  We will carry hand-made items from local crafters and artists.  So many people came in to ask if we had hand-made gifts for sale that I decided we would be missing out if I insist that everyone make their own; I mean, I haven’t always had time in my life to make things or craft, but I love giving hand-made gifts.  The hand-made factor is what makes it special and unique, don’t you think?  We all sometimes buy a scarf, mug or plate that was made in china and shipped over to sell at a cheap price, but the quality and love that go into gifts made by a local artist or crafters cannot be replaced.

We have some exciting things planned for December and are already working on some for January.  In December, we have a local artist coming in to teach a drawing class with a twist.  Our idea is to take some basic skills that would be taught as a part of a series class, and teach them in small parts, hopefully sparking an interest or solidifying an existing interest in drawing or other skills.  This class will teach some basic crafting as well as facial drawing techniques to create a self-image hero for kids.  We will eventually be holding a drawing class with this same great teacher/artist that will span over a period of weeks. We will keep you all updated on the calendar and through social media.

I put as much effort as possible toward family and friends but sometimes find myself falling into my bed late at night thinking about all the phone calls I haven’t made and all the people that I haven’t spoken to in a while.  Thankfully, when I finally do find time to call or catch up, everyone has been supportive and very understanding of the sacrifices I am making starting this incredible business journey.  The coming holidays are a pleasant reminder to focus on who and what is important in life and I am going to do just that. I am happy that I have chosen a concept that focuses on family and friends.

I look forward to meeting many more people and hopefully inspiring our new friends to get creative in the months to come.  I hope for everyone a beautiful holiday season surrounded by friends, family and many hand-made heart-felt gifts.
